Join us for a Nordic film series exploring the dreams, challenges, and struggles of immigrants both then and now, from the time of the Great Migration to contemporary Scandinavia.
I am Yours (Jeg er din, 2013) is the story of a young woman caught between two cultures in today’s Norway. Mina is an unhappy single mother in the Oslo Pakistani expatriate community. Unhappy at home, she seeks affection from the men she hooks ups with. In her desperate search for love, she begins to ignore her young son for a Swedish filmmaker she thinks could change her life for the better, only to be left disappointed and alone.
In Norwegian and Swedish with English subtitles. There will be an introduction prior to the film and a discussion following.

This is a free event, with a suggested $5 donation to the Swedish Club. Free parking.

Following the film, enjoy the hospitality of the Swedish Club as our guests, with dinner and drinks available for purchase and the best view in Seattle.

This film series is sponsored by the Seattle-Bergen Sister City Association, the Swedish Club, and the University of Washington Jackson School Center for West European Studies.
