Ancient Norwegian stevtoner and folk songs meld with updated harmonies to create a timeless musical experience. Mostly Nordic favorite from Norway, Knut Erik Jensen returns to perform Klaus Egge's ethereal Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Seattle Philharmonic Strings under the direction of Adam Stern as well as Johan Kvandal's arrangements of stevtoner with soprano Laura Loge. Skandia’s Midsommarfest
This day-long traditional Scandinavian celebration features music and dance performances, kids’ activities (including raising a kid-sized pole), flower crowns, craft and food booths, a special costume presentation, participatory dancing, mini-dance lessons for beginners, and of course, the traditional pole raising ceremony. Ballard Seafood Fest
SeafoodFest began in 1974 as a community celebration of Ballard’s historic connection to the fishing industry and the neighborhood’s Nordic roots.
