Danish American Cultural Retreat (DACR)

The annual Danish American Cultural Retreat (DACR) is a virtual event this year! Join us for a fun culture conference from home with speakers from around the world.
The program also features a live opening concert with Danish-American musician, Jessica Lynne Witty, and a happy hour concert on Saturday with local Danish musician, Flemming Behrend!
Program announcements:
-Karen Eisenhut, a teacher at Kontiki Skole in Denmark, will talk about outdoor teaching and the reopening of schools in Denmark after the COVID lockdown
-Author Bill Arnott will share tidbits and entertaining stories from his highly anticipated upcoming book, “Gone Viking: A Travel Saga”
-Bruce Bro aka “The Hiking Viking” will share pictures and tales from his recent 500-mile fundraising hike for Danish America
-Author Bodil Jelhof Jensen will speak about her mother’s stories from Denmark during the 1920s & 30s, WWII, and her post-WWII immigration to Canada
-Fidelma McGinn, the new president of ScanDesign Foundation, will speak about the Foundation’s far-reaching activities in Danish-American relations

Registrations:
These are tough times for many. We want to make sure everyone can join us, so we have created a sliding scale for DACR this year ($25-$100). The suggested amount is $40 per person. Anyone paying $40 or more will get a free raffle ticket. You can also purchase additional raffle tickets at $5 per ticket.
Raffle for scholarships!
All proceeds from raffle ticket sales will go towards scholarships for students! The raffle prize is a basket full of Danish goodies and gifts (will be more than a $100 value).
Bonus for members: All NWDA members who register for DACR will be entered in a special gift drawing!
