Ancient Norwegian stevtoner and folk songs meld with updated harmonies to create a timeless musical experience. Mostly Nordic favorite from Norway, Knut Erik Jensen returns to perform Klaus Egge’s ethereal Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Seattle Philharmonic Strings under the direction of Adam Stern as well as Johan Kvandal’s arrangements of stevtoner with soprano Laura Loge. The Seattle Philharmonic Strings will also perform works by Kvandal and his father, David Monrad Johansen, on the centennial of his birth.
