Scandinavian Dance Basics 6-week series

  January 2, 2019 @ 7:30 pm | HOSTED BY: Skandia Folkdance Society

7:30 pm | Cost: $6 – $55

Phinney Neighborhood Center
6532 Phinney Ave N
Seattle,

Start the New Year learning couple turning dances. No experience needed, just a sense of humor. Come alone or with a friend. The series runs from 1/2/19 through 2/6/19. On six consecutive Wednesdays, 7:30–9 p.m., Jerry Walsh and Judy Patterson will teach basic footwork, how to move to different rhythms, and tips for dancing as a follow/lead. Expect to change partners frequently, learn to relax while dancing, and at least once each class, wonder “How in the world did that happen?” (We can answer that question!)

Dances include waltz, schottis, and other turning dances from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

$55 for the 6-week series ($45 for Skandia members)

Can’t come on January 2? It is OK to begin on January 9.
We have several experienced dancers who come to help new dancers.
