The Leif Erikson Lodge of the Sons of Norway, the National Nordic Museum and the Swedish Club are collaborating on a vitally important project come fall: namely, cookies. That’s right, ’tis the season for bazaars and other holiday observances.

These events depend on cookies for their success, and it gets to be a bit much for our regular bakers. So we’re coming together to mentor some new cookie bakers among our membership.

The next class on baking Nordic cookies for beginners will be Sunday, Oct 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Leif Erikson Lodge in Ballard (2245 NW 57th Ave.). You’ll learn to bake two types of traditional cookies—and if you promise to provide cookies for the Club’s bazaar, the class is free!
