Join us for an educational weekend getaway at the annual Danish American Cultural Retreat (DACR)! Each year the cultural conference features highly qualified speakers on topics related to the Nordic region.

This summer is the 41st annual DACR – a true Pacific Northwest tradition! The event is held 3 days each June at a beautiful facility overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. Learn, relax, and socialize in lush green surroundings with spectacular views.

The retreat offers nature walks to nearby waterfalls, family-style meals, coffee breaks with authentic Danish pastries, singing, Danish lessons, and other activities to choose from.

2019 featured exhibit: Dannebrog 800
2019 is a special year for Denmark – the Danish flag, Dannebrog, is turning 800! To honor this great anniversary, DACR 2019 will feature “Dannebrog 800”, a brand new exhibit by the Museum of Danish America in Iowa. DACR is your chance to see the exhibit on the West Coast!

“2019 marks the 800th birthday of Dannebrog, the Danish national flag. The exhibition explores the legends, history, and current uses of the Danish flag, both in Denmark and in the United States.” (Museum of Danish America)
